THE parents and pupils of Leigh and Bransford School are preparing for their latest fundraising venture which will be a table-top sale to be held at the Leigh and Bransford Memorial Hall on Saturday, June 9. Loraine Ranaldo, the new chairman of the Parent Teacher Association is hoping for solid support and a good turnout on the day.
Anyone can rent a table for £5 and this could be your opportunity to have a good spring clean, make a profit out of all those objects that you no longer need and spend a sociable day selling and no doubt buying!
For further details, look at the posters at the school and the village shop and there will be leaflets delivered around the village after half-term.
That weekend will also be busy at St Edburga's Church as Leigh will also be hosting the instrumental session of the Deanery music event on Sunday at 2.15pm. The charge will be £3 for adults and £2 for first child. The afternoon will end with a deanery service at 6.30. This session will be free for those who attended The Big Sing at Hallow on Saturday at 2.15pm. All are welcome. The Sunday service at Leigh on June 3 will be at 9a.m.
The organisers of the Parish Players' latest evening of good food and entertainment are delighted with the profits from the evening.
After all expenses the grand total of £676 has been added to the fund for the south aisle roof.
Serious progress is being made towards the £18,000 total and all involved are very grateful for the support they have received so far.
