THE Upton-based Mercia Inshore Search And Rescue (MISAR) crew was called out on Friday (May 25) to rescue a dog trapped on the bank of the River Severn.

The call come from Queenhill, near where the river is crossed by the M50 motorway, at about 1.30pm.

The crew, based at the town's marina, rescued the dog, thought to be a golden retriever, and reunited it with its owner.

The crew was called out the following day to Stourport to rescue a cygnet trapped in a sluice.

And another call out came at about 1.30am on Tuesday, when a man threatened to jump off a bridge in Evesham. However police restrained him and the MISAR crew were not needed.
