THE memory of a former Upton Primary School teacher who died in a car crash lives on with the purchase of new clarinets and a memorial bench.
Lisa Kent-Davies, who worked at the school from 2001-2005 before moving to Kent, died in July last year, aged 38.
Headteacher Alec Holland said hundreds of pounds had been donated in her memory and the school wanted to use the money for something fitting.
"Lisa is very fondly remembered by both staff and students at the school, and this is the sort of thing she would have been keen on," he said.
"She was very interested in music, and she got the children very enthusiastic about it."
The school has purchased four clarinets, which children will be able to borrow to practice with at home before deciding if they want to purchase their own.
They will also be used for music lessons at the school.
"Hopefully it will help the children with their music, as it can be quite expensive if you have to hire instruments," he said. "It's also a nice continuation of Lisa's musical interests."
Mr Holland said the memorial bench would be a place for quiet reflection.
"It means her memory lives on and it is somewhere people will be able to sit and think about how important she was to us all," he said.
As another tribute to the former teacher, the school will award a special shield to an outstanding arts student at the end of each year.
