CLERGYMEN in Upton are concerned visitors to the town have trouble finding its churches.
The leaders of Anglican, Baptist and Catholic churches have joined together to request new signs be put up directing people from the town centre.
The Rev. Jeff Radcliffe, The Rev. Ian Sim and Fr Dominic Round say while numbers are swelled by festival performers and tourists, visitors often say how hard churches are to find.
The churches would like to see signs put up at the Old Churchyard and also at the crossroads of Old Street, New Street and Court Street to help solve the problem.
The idea has already won favour with Upton Town Council. Coun John Thompson said the signs could be a real benefit to the town, if done well.
"They could be something really good to look at as well as being informative," he said.
