LAST Saturday's Cider and Blossom Festival was a most enjoyable day and Patrick Whitehead and his team would like to thank everyone who contributed to the festival.
The final fundraising amount is not yet to hand but the parish hall and the church appreciate the huge effort involved in organising the festival. The winner of the May Queen competition was Georgina Nicholls and her chosen attendants were Freya Jones and Abigail Tasker.
The winning illustrated poem, entitled Spring and Blossom, was by Emily Perks and two judges' special prizes were awarded to Salome Jefferson and a joint effort from Joe and Daniel Hamblin. The winner of the apple and cider cake competition was Rhinedd Krinks and the pudding winner was Anne Kay. Jake Anderson was the under 18 winner.
All the children's entertainments were very popular, with the duck races being sold out. The orchard walkers avoided the showers and on their return were able to quench their thirst with the many ciders on sale.
On Sunday, at the Bell, there is a quiz night with proceeds to Ledbury Young Farmers. Teams of up to four, 8pm start, £4 entry.
On Bank Holiday Monday, Alison and Rob invite you to a Squeaky Pig Roast at the Bell Inn from noon to 7pm. Bring the family for an enjoyable afternoon. New patio and garden.
