THE parish council met on May 15 for its post-election annual meeting and the two new councillors, Ben Nelsey and Hugh Ransome-Williams, were welcomed.
All councillors were sworn in and Patrick Adams and Richard Hurley were elected to be chairman and vice-chairman respectively. Ben and Hugh will take on liaison with the Memorial Hall committee and Sue Hall will attend HALC meetings. There will not be a council meeting on the last Tuesday of this month, the next is on June 26.
A reminder the quiz night at the Farmers Arms will be on Sunday at 8.30pm with a barbecue beforehand (weather permitting).
Christ Church services are: Sunday: 9.30am, family communion with The Rev. Howard Mayell; Tuesday: 9.30am, Lent course continues; Wednesday: 9.30am, morning prayer.
Tonight (Friday), there will be a games evening for 8-15-year-olds at the Memorial Hall.
Other village hall activities for the week include: Tuesday: Bridge Club at 2pm; Wednesday: Pilates at 6.45pm; Thursday: Curious Blend coffee morning, 10am-noon.
