CAPTAIN Rik Halion was one of a host of Malvern Town players honoured at the club's annual awards.
The Langland Stadium skipper was named manager's player of the year at the presentation night last Friday, while former Worcester City midfielder Jamie Hyde scooped the players' player of the year gong.
Striker Ed Lyons, promoted from the reserves during the season, was top-scorer with nine goals.
His efforts helped secure the team a 17th-place finish in their inaugural season in Southern League Division One Midlands.
Despite a less then impressive end to the campaign, manager Paul Molloy was pleased with his players' efforts.
He said: "They played really well, especially Jamie and Rik. Ed joined us from the reserves and I was pleased with him."
He added: "We were disappointed at the end because we only won one out of the last seven games.
"But overall I am pleased. At the start of the season we would have settled for staying in the league.
"Next season we really want to cement our place in the league and have a good run in the FA Cup and FA Trophy."
Malvern Town reserves recorded a mid-table finish in West Midlands Division One despite losing several players to the first-team cause throughout the season.
Joe Leighton was named manager's player of the year, while Dale Humphries was players' player.
Ollie Endacott finished the season as top-scorer.
However, the youth team were the most successful of the club's teams.
They finished third in the Midland Floodlit Youth League Southern Division behind champions Redditch and Bishops Cleeve.
The team also lost in the Herefordshire Youth Cup final against Newport County, were beaten in the semi-finals of the league cup and reached the FA Youth Cup third qualifying round.
Phil Harris collected the manager's player of the year award and Tom Poole scooped the players' player prize. James Gifford was top-scorer.
Malvern chairman Paul Pallett gave a report on the club's season and the awards were presented by Alan Braggington of Malvern Instruments.
