THE rejuvenation of Malvern Library is now extending to the outside as the grounds and forecourt are due for a makeover.
Plans for the latest stage of the Malvern Library refurbishment will soon be available for residents to view and make comments. From Monday (May 21) drawings of the next stages of its redevelopment will be on display in the library.
Malvern Library has recently undergone an extensive facelift and it is now the turn of the grounds and forecourt.
The plans include the enhancement and opening up of the natural site to give prominence to the Italianate Library façade and War Memorial. The improvements will make acts of remembrance easier to facilitate and preserve the dignity of the setting.
Appropriate landscaping and planting will also improve the library grounds as an accessible and enjoyable public amenity. The plans are part of a £79,000 project that is being managed and funded jointly by Worcestershire County Coun-cil, Malvern Hills District Council and Malvern Town Council.
The plans will be on display for two weeks for residents and visitors to make comments. Application for planning permission is expected to be submitted towards the end of this month.
The work has been scheduled for the autumn, with completion well ahead of remembrance ceremonies in November.
