The course helping parents and couples in the area, which started on Tuesday, continues on May 15, 22 and 29, 10am- noon. It is run by Charlotte Carver, of Bidderscroft, Welland, for the Family Caring Trust.

Looking ahead, on June 2 between 2-6pm, there will be an Edwardian afternoon party at Bidderscroft, Welland, in celebration of the 150th anniversary of Sir Edward Elgar's Birthday, organised by Bill and Charlotte Carver. There will be music, archery, various stalls, and tea with birthday cake.Tickets cost £7.50 each, under-16s free. Edwardian/patriotic dress optional. Ticket information from Charlotte or Bill at the above contact points. Donations will go to selected Elgar charities.
Again looking ahead, the pre-school's auction of promises at the Pheasant Inn, Welland, is on Friday, May 25. Lots include a hot air balloon ride, tickets for the Three Counties Show, a car valet, a driving lesson, a round of golf for four keen golfers at Bransford and a garden strimmer amongst other things.
St James' Church hosts a craft fair, a service and a barbecue on July 22, and on June 10 there is a wedding fayre at the church.
The next Kids Klobber event is on May 19 at Welland Village Hall, 11am onwards.
