THE Farmers Arms quiz night over the Bank Holiday weekend was a popular event, with six teams taking part. The winning team was The Flat Caps and Jellied Eels (Originally known as The Tottenham Supporters Club) by two points. This was the third win for them. Congratulations! On Thursday, May 17, Andy Masefield will be entertaining once again at a jazz evening.

The annual Christian Aid house-to-house collection will take place during the week from Sunday to Saturday, May 13-19. The customary generous support by the village would be much appreciated.

The whist drive, due to take place on Saturday, May 19, has been cancelled.

The parish council is obliged to hold its own annual meeting (at which chairman, vice-chairman and other posts are filled), within a set number of days from the date of the election on May 3. This means that the next parish council meeting must be held on Tuesday, May 15, at 7.30pm at the committee room in the Memorial Hall. There will be no meeting on the last Tuesday of May, so the next meeting after the annual meeting will be on Tuesday, June 26.
