A SUCCESSFUL Malvern film company was profiled in the Gazette 50 years ago this week.
Stewart Films had its headquarters in Orchard Road, Malvern and operated a studio in Clifton Hill, London.
The company was founded by John R F Stewart, who had worked as a photographer and moviemaker at the town's defence establishment during the Second World War, and later for the BBC.
The company's first production, The Doctor Ordered Clay, told the history of the Royal Worcester Porcelain Company and was made in Malvern, with many local amateur actors taking part.
Does anyone have more information about Stewart Film, perhaps even stills from some of the firm's productions? If so, contact Robert Hale on rh@malverngazette.co.uk.
