CHILDREN from St Matthias Primary School in Malvern Link brought a Bible story to life in a special assembly held in collaboration with the Bible Society’s Malvern Action Group.
St Matthias Church, next to the school, was the venue where the year five children acted out the story of the boy king Josiah, when the High Priest found the Book of the Law.
They were followed by youngsters from year six, who shared some prayers they had written.
Heather Williamson, of the Bible Society, explained its work and told the story of the young girl Mary Jones whose desire for a Welsh Bible, 200 years ago, was a trigger for the founding of British and foreign Bible Societies.
The assembly was created in collaboration with Open The Book, which offers a programme of themed and dramatised Bible stories at no charge to schools.
