A MALVERN musician’s new mini-album has drawn together the great and good of the town’s live music scene.
Depths, from Ruben Seabright, may be a solo project on face value but the seven-track offering has been a collaborative effort, from being recorded with Garry Low in the heart of the town over nearly two years to including a number of local artists.
It features Lewis Boulton along with other recognisable names such as Mikey Mann, Vo Fletcher, Alex Albrow, Julia Palmer-Price, Jamie Raynor, Chewie, and Sian Gordon.
Ruben, who is also known for performing in bands like Dr Stanley, said: “I’ve tried to vary the sound on each track.
It's an eclectic mix so hopefully it will appeal to a wide audience.
“The bluesy stuff is influenced by people like Joe Bonamassa, Jack White, and Robert Johnson.
“The more ballady stuff is influenced by people like Damien Rice and Kimbra.”
The CD is due out next month and will be available from outlets including Carnival Records, Re-con, The Great Malvern Hotel and Priors Croft – all in Malvern – and Worcester’s Rise Records, Market Hall Records and Retinal Comics.
It will cost £6 and it is also available as a digital download from iTunes for £4.99.
