ONE of the most prominent figures on the English folk scene will lead a musical workshop later this year.
John Kirkpatrick will be teaching beginners and improvers on folk instruments at the Ale House in Mill Lane, Colwall, on Saturday, March 2.
Performing since the 70s, he has played solo and in duos, as well as with acoustic groups and electric bands, taking in appearances with the likes of The Albion Band and Steeleye Span.
In 2010 he was named musician of the year at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and recently featured on the BBC’s Victorian Farm.
The workshop costs £25 and includes lunch.
