MEMBERS met on Thursday, January 10.
They started with the business and one of the items for discussion was the trading stall.
This had previously been run by Helen Chiverton and since Helen stood down it seems to have fell by the wayside.
Members were asked to help to make it a success once more by putting their names on the rota to help to run it.
Members have another big event on Saturday, March 16, and have been invited to take part in a craft day to be held in Hanley Swan village hall 10am until 4pm.
There will be craft taster sessions eg art, floral arranging, patchwork, photography, textile art, felt making and cracking the cryptic crossword.
The event is supported by local traders who have paid to hire a table to sell their wares. The proceeds from the day will go to two local charities.
The speakers for the evening were Gareth Thomas, a magistrate, and Polly, from Worcester probation service.
They spoke about training for the probation service and the magistrates court.
Members were given a thought provoking scenario to debate. There were some difficult decisions to debate: Send the perpetrator to prison? Community service orders – are they seen as a soft option? Is prison the answer or rehabilitation? The views of members were aired and a lively debate ensued.
The next meeting is on Thursday, February 14 at 7.30pm in Hanley Swan village hall. Visitors and new members always welcome, why not come along with a friend?
