SALES of a guide to walking the Malverns, written by a local author, have passed the 1,000 mark this month.
Carl Flint, of Malvern Link, created his Pictorial Guide to the Malvern Hills in emulation of Alfred Wainwright's famous illustrated guides to the Lake District.
Mr Flint said: “It is through the support of the good folk in the tourist information centres, the local post offices in the Link, Barnards Green, Welland and Hanley Swan and our wonderful bookshops in Malvern, Upton and Ledbury who are all keen to support our local heritage.”
Helen Barker, of Malvern Book Co-operative, said: “The book not only gives clear walking instructions but also snippets of historical and and anecdotal information.
“Most importantly they direct the reader to the nearest pubs along the route.”
It is also available from Malvern Museum and Malvern Hills Gallery, and the Cathedral Bookshop and Waterstones in Worcester.
