TWO former students at Malvern’s Chase School are taking part in a healthy eating project.

Abi Mayne and Emma Hookham are part of a startup team working on the Nutribox, a subscription service delivering boxes of healthy snacks to customers monthly.

The aim is to provide healthy nutritious snacks that taste good to people who have neither the time nor inclination to go digging around small health food shops to find such products, but want to eat well.

Nutribox is the idea of Sheffield businessman Peter Beeby.

He has joined forces with experienced nutritional therapist Ann Sinclair, public health and nutrition specialist Miss Hookham, from Cowleigh Road, Malvern, and Miss Mayne, from Carlton Road, Malvern, a member of Sheffield Hallam University’s food and nutrition course.

Miss Hookham, who is 24 and had also attended Sheffield Hallam to study nutrition and public health, met her 21-year-old colleague when they both went to work with Mr Beeby and it turned out they were both from the same town, both went to Northleigh Primary School in Malvern and also both went to The Chase.

“No wonder we get on so well,” she said.

Miss Mayne said: “The company’s aim is to make healthy snacking easier. I find the idea of developing opportunities for people to improve their nutrition very exciting, so the Nutribox is perfect for me and I look forward to 2013 being a very exciting year.”
