ACORNS Children’s Hospice has launched a new appeal to support a major change in how it collects stock.
The hospice’s Bring a Bag to Acorns’ stores appeal urges people to bring donations of stock directly to any of its 54 stores and organise group collections at schools and work.
The charity’s retail team has stopped door-to-door collections following concerns about the numbers of charity bags being pushed through people’s letterboxes and issues with bags being stolen.
Acorns previously collected 2,000 bags of stock each week from doorstep donations around local neighbourhoods so the change of policy means donations are even more important.
People who still receive bags marked for ‘Acorns’ are asked to contact its retail team on 01564 825027.
