AN eight-week-old baby from Malvern has died.
The Midlands Air Ambulance was called after the infant stopped breathing at a property in Sherrards Green Road, near Barnards Green, Malvern.
Crews from West Midlands Ambulance Service reached the scene within five minutes of the 999 call and started resuscitation efforts.
An air ambulance landed on snow covered playing fields nearby and the baby was airlifted to hospital where resuscitation attempts continued on board.
A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: “As in all cases where there is a sudden death of a child, detectives are working with the health authorities to establish the circumstances.”
An ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, a paramedic area support officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended the scene along with the police, who are investigating the death.
