WEST Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin visited a Malvern technology firm which has won another award.

Text Local, which is based in the Malvern Hills Science Park, scooped a Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Award, adding to its long list of both national and international prizes.

The company is now one of the largest digital marketing companies in the UK.

It provides text message sales campaigns for well-known companies including Pizza Hut, Sainsbury’s and Lloyds TSB.

Mrs Baldwin said: “Text Local is an amazing company.

“It is thriving in a fast-moving business environment.

“Many of the text message marketing campaigns that we all sign up for are handled in Malvern and millions of text messages are sent out from the company servers each day.

“As well as working with big brands, the company is looking to offer a cost-effective service for small business.

“I was eager to find out more and spread the word.

“It is yet another example of a company set up in a bedroom that now services thousands of companies and has created more than 20 jobs.”
