AS we celebrate the beginning of a New Year, 2013 will also see the 102nd anniversary of International Women’s Day on Friday March 8.
As we recognise the achievements of women around the world, we must also remember the millions of women struggling to overcome poverty, domestic violence, and discrimination.
Oxfam is marking the day through our Get Together campaign, and I would like to invite the readers of the Malvern Gazette to get involved. This is a chance to celebrate International Women’s Day by doing something fun with friends to raise money for Oxfam’s work with women.
We will be launching the Get Together in Malvern at the local Oxfam shop on Church Street, Great Malvern on Saturday, January 26, from 11am to 3pm. Join us for tea, cake, and some wonderful craft demonstrations.
Find out more about Oxfam, International Women’s Day, and how you can help women in poverty.
The money that you raise with your Get Together will go directly towards Oxfam’s projects with women.
To get involved, visit oxfam.org.uk/gettogether, or for more information, e-mail me at cduck@oxfam.org.uk or call me on 07917 323538. Thank you for your support.
