HISTORIC venues will once again echo with the sound of world class chamber music.
The 2013 Wye Valley Chamber Music Festival runs from Saturday to Sunday, January 12-20, in settings such as the Bishop’s Palace in Hereford, St Briavel’s Church, Treowen Manor, near Monmouth, and Hellens Manor in Much Marcle.
It features musicians such as Matthew Truscott, leader of the Orchestra in the Age of Enlightenment; Simon Crawford-Phillips, of the Kungsbacka Piano Trio, and Laura Samuel, leader of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
The festival’s programme consists of pieces by Benjamin Britten, Schubert, Parisian tales and a talk by artist Susannah Fiennes on the language of painting.
