AN internationally-recognised pianist is the latest star name to appear as a guest of Malvern Concert Club.
Paul Lewis is considered one of the leading pianists of his generation.
He is due to return to Malvern Theatres for his third recital for the club, during which he will perform three mature works from the last six years of Schubert’s life.
Lewis will take to the stage once more on Thursday, January 24, from 7.30pm.
His many awards include the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Instrumentalist of the Year, two Edison Awards and three Gramophone awards.
His concert performances and recordings of the complete Beethoven sonatas, concertos and the Diabelli Variations have earned him unanimous acclaim.
This culminated in 2010 with the honour of becoming the first pianist to perform all five Beethoven concertos in a single BBC Proms season.
Tickets are priced at £15.50, concessions £14.50 and under-21s £5.
