FIVE people took up the challenge and decorated the gas lamps by their houses in the village for Christmas.
On Boxing Day the judging panel declared the winning lamp to be the one beside Berwyn, 210 West Malvern Road, which was adorned in seasonal style with Mistletoe and Fir by Colin Jackson, who has been presented with a winner’s certificate and a bottle of champagne.
Also highly commended were lamps decorated by Lynne Jones in the Upper Dingle and by Susan Raine in Harcourt Road – many thanks to all who got involved.
If you’re planning to plant fruit trees this year, now is the time to get yourself organised.
Worcestershire County Council are promoting heritage apple, pear and plum trees and our village tree wardens have details about the scheme and how you can take advantage of the choice of varieties and, of course, the price.
