IT was a lively group of ladies who met at the Bowling Club, Malvern Link, on Tuesday.
President Mary Wilkinson opened by welcoming back all members and wishing them a happy new year.
The meeting on March 12 will be a special spring event when as well as an invited speaker there will be various surprises on the programme.
It is hoped to invite guests.
With a wary eye on the weather the Strollers will not be having an outing this month but will meet together for lunch at Mac & Jac’s restaurant near the Abbey Gateway on Tuesday.
Tuesday, January 22, will see members back at Malvern Library for Book Corner when they will be discussing our Christmas reading and other literary matters.
The speaker this month was Anne Oldfield with a timely reminder of how to improve our health and fitness after the indulgences of the season.
It was realised how improvements could be achieved by gentle movements suitable for the over 60s or those with disabilities or health problems.
Most of the exercise can be carried out sitting down with simple equipment.
Members then put Anne’s advice into practice when they all joined in a class.
To the surprise of most our bodies responded to the gentle stretching and members felt they had benefited. Anne was thanked warmly.
Next month’s speaker will be Chris Wilson talking about her experiences in Romania.
Her talk is entitled Making smiles in Romania. Visitors are always welcome and for more information, telephone Nina Shaw on 01684 573318.
