A CHARITY road-trip that will see Malvern’s mayor drive 800 miles to the Czech Republic will be officially launched later this month.
Ian Hopwood will be driving to Malvern’s new twin town Marianske Lazne in April to raise money for Acorns Children’s Hospice.
He hopes to raise “a comfortable four figures” for Acorns and is hoping to drum up support during an official launch at the hospice, in Bath Road, Worcester, at 10.30am on Monday, January 21.
He has already received a boost with the support of Bowling Green Garage in Powick, which will be providing a car for the trip free of charge.
Coun Hopwood expects the trip to take four days.
