THE meeting held on November 27 was opened by the vice-chairman .
A minute’s silence was held in memory of one of our founder members Margery Bishop who has sadly passed away.
Bob Harris gave us a very entertaining afternoon with his stories and a poem entitled What Christmas does to me. The arrangements were spectacular starting with a ring of foliage, mostly holly and ivy, filled in with red roses and roses called Green Passion.
Second came three bronze bowls sprays of ivy with tall amaryllis and two smaller arrangements to make a fine display. Next was a candlestick decorated with twigs, foliage, pink roses, carnations and chrysanthemums.
Then came a frame with two arrangements consisting of green foliage, silver leaves, purple and pink flowers and pink baubles.
A large wreath, pink carnations, roses and gerberas followed.
The last display was a very large champagne glass covered in pink rosebuds, the brim with foliage filled with red roses.
