A YOUNG girl’s birthday celebrations will certainly not be a dime a dozen as she turns 12 on the 12/12/12.

Natasha Snee, of Beechfield Road, Malvern, will mark the anniversary with a family tea after a day at school on Wednesday.

The Chase pupil said: “I realised a few years ago that I would be turning 12 on the 12/12/12 and it has been really exciting counting down the days.

“My friends are always quite surprised when I tell them.”

She will be celebrating with her parents Martin and Sally, sisters Zoe, 15, and Thea, seven, as well as her grandparents.

The number 12 has become a lucky number for the family, and mum Sally said there were a few members of the family born on the 12th day of a month.

Mrs Snee said: “If someo n e t e l l s m e t o t h i n k o f a n u m b e r I a l w a y s choose 12.

“Natasha has tried to find someone else turning 12 on the same day but she hasn’t found anyone so far.”

Natasha’s birth in 2000 was as extraordinary as this year’s birthday celebrations and made the front page of your Malvern Gazette’s sister paper, the Worcester News.

Her mum went into labour during the floods of 2000 and was stuck in heavy traffic at Powick.

The couple flagged down a police officer who rushed Mrs Snee to Worcester’s former Ronkswood Hospital where she gave birth within the hour.
