A SERIES of iconic album sleeves have been re-created for a charity calendar.
Carnival Records, in Church Street, Malvern, has got together a series of snaps staged by some of its creative customers with all proceeds going to Acorns Children’s Hospice.
Owners Chris and Rachel Heard say they got the idea after a regular customer visited the shop with a mockedup photo of the first Crosby, Stills and Nash album with a couple of his friends posing on an old sofa outside his house.
Having put out a request for similar photos inspired by seminal album covers, the finished article will feature artists such as The Beatles, AC/DC and Nirvana.
Mr Heard said: “The album cover is becoming something of a lost art, and it’s something we’re very passionate about at Carnival Records. What better way to celebrate it than to raise money for a good cause.”
Some of the other instantly recognisable images include Patti Smith’s Horses and Tom Waits’ Rain Dogs. The calendar will be available from the shop at £10.
