I ASK residents of Malvern Hills to contact their district councillors before the meeting to be held on December 10 and urge them not to overturn the decision taken last month to take a more sustainable and dispersed pattern of housing development.
This decision will determine the future for all of us and for our children and grandchildren.
The revised plans do not take away a single house from the number to be built, or remove a single foot of employment land, what they propose is to disperse development to make better use of existing transport and services rather than create self contained add-ons to Newland and Kempsey which cannot be supported by the additional infrastructure expenditure necessary to do it properly.
The plans put forward again by Councillor Hughes identify massive funding gaps with only vague hopes the money will be found before 2030 to build the roads and other infrastructure needed.
The traffic chaos of the last week caused by intensive use of the A449 during the flooding gives a taste of what to expect every day if the original proposals are adopted.
The revised plan offers a better future for us all.
Please, councillors, stick with your brave decision.
