GREAT Malvern town centre will be overflowing with the sights, sounds and aromas of Christmas tomorrow (Saturday) for the annual festive celebrations and lights switch-on.
The fun day will include street performers, craft and food stalls, refreshments, Father Christmas and much more.
Thousands of people are expected to pour into the town to soak up the jolly atmosphere as they browse local shops and stalls for inspirational gifts, take part in activities such as face painting and Christmas cracker making, listen to bands and choirs, try some of the culinary delights on offer, watch the life-size polar bear or take part in the lantern parade.
The main events take place around Belle Vue Island, Belle Vue Terrace, in the Priory Church and grounds, and along Church Street. Wells Road and Church Street will be closed to traffic between 10am and 9pm.
Other attractions will be staged at Malvern Library and the community hospital.
Youngsters can pay a visit to Santa at Malvern Library on Graham Road.
The grand Christmas lantern parade will start at 5.40pm from the Conservators car park on Grange Road and proceed up Church Street to Belle Vue Island where panto actors Bobbie Kent and Anthony West, who play the Ugly Sisters in Cinderella at Malvern Theatres this year, will switch on the town’s Christmas lights at 6pm
