THE new chairman of Malvern Hills Conservators is looking forward to overseeing “an exciting period of change” for the organisation.

Helen Stace, who lives in Colwall and has been a Conservator since 2007, is delighted to be at the helm of the organisation, which manages more than 3,000 acres of hillside and commons in and around Malvern.

She replaces Brian Pilcher while the new vice-chairman is Roger Cousins, of Welland, who replaces Tym Musgrove.

Mrs Stace, who has spent most of her career in conservation and is a founding member of Colwall Orchard Group, said: “This is an exciting period of change for the Conservators, as we will be carrying out our governance review, reviewing our management plan and raising the profile of the excellent work we do managing the hills for all to enjoy.”

Mr Cousins, a Conservator since 2011, said: “‘I am looking forward to working with Helen, the board and the staff to help the Malvern Hills Conservators through a period of change and reform and to develop an identity for the future.”
