THE annual It’s A Knockout competition organised by Malvern Hills Lions was a great success.
The event, held at the Three Counties Showground’s Avon Hall, allows teams from six social education centres from the area to take part in friendly competition.
The theme for this year’s event was In The Spirit Of The Olympics, and involved more than 150 participants and helpers. Bob Appleby of the Lions said: “During the 16 years I have been involved with this event, I have never seen such enthusiastic involvement from competitors and supporters, which for many participants is one of the highlights of their year.”
The winner this year was Tewkesbury Adult Opportunity Centre, and Malvern won the poster competition and the best joker competition.
Organisers have extended their thanks the events supporters, including Smartbox Assistive Technology, Brookhire, Worcester College of Technology, the Morgan pub, and the Three Counties Showground. Staff from Festival Housing helped decorate the hall.
