A ROAD near Malvern that was flooded for six weeks was drained the very day the Malvern Gazette highlighted the problem.
Residents of Lower Howsell Road, which runs from Malvern Link to Leigh Sinton, complained that the road had been flooded for over six weeks, despite calls to the highways authority.
But even as the Gazette, with a front-page picture story about the flood, was hitting the news-stands on Friday, county council staff were tackling the problem.
District councillor Paul Tuthill said: "I got a call at 8am from one of the local residents at 8am. saying the workmen were bthere. They must have found the right drain to unblock, because the road is perfectly dry now."
