Harvest Festival was celebrated at St Mary’s Church, Longdon. The flower team had produced stunning displays of flowers and produce decorating every window.
The choir performed two lovely anthems, Reverend Chris gave a topical sermon with his artwork and at the end of the service about 60 people went to the old school to enjoy a harvest supper.
The auction held in the old school raised about £1,500.
John Rule gave a brilliant performance as auctioneer, moving quickly through the catalogue with cool authority, teasing higher bids from the audience with his gentle good humour.
