THE Faithful City will receive its second royal ‘visitor’ this month as the Worcester Gilbert and Sullivan Society perform The Mikado.
The hilarious Japanese-themed opera tells the story of Nanki-Poo, a prince on the run from his father, the Emperor of Japan. Alan Feeney, who stars as Ko-Ko, the Lord High Executioner, said: “The Mikado is the most popular of all the Gilbert and Sullivan operas with a hilarious plot, great comic characters and plenty of toe-tapping tunes. It’s always a popular show.”
The Mikado runs at The Swan Theatre between Tuesday and Saturday, October 9 and 13 at 7.30pm, with a matinee at 2.30pm. Tickets are available by calling the box office on 01905 611427.
