TWO members of The Courtyard’s Youth Theatre have been accepted into the National Youth Theatre.
Daniel Heathcote, aged 16, and Harry Jones, 14, attended auditions in Cardiff, where they had to perform a short monologue and take part in a workshop with other auditionees.
A total of 4,600 young people auditioned for places but only 500 were chosen.
Harry said: “I was so ecstatic that I got in because I love being on stage. I’m inspired to do this by my family, and the Youth Theatre at The Courtyard, which has given me new skills to use in acting.”
David Durant, youth theatre director at The Courtyard, said: “I am very proud of them both, as it is really great to have members from our youth theatre in National Youth Theatre.
“The boys will have a super time and hopefully bring back new skills to pass on.”
Daniel and Harry will attend a 10-day National Youth Theatre course in London in August, after which they will be able to audition for National Youth Theatre productions.
