THE Malvern Wells players are bringing mayhem and murder to the hills in their latest production.

In The Farndale Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society Murder Mystery, nine members of the Bishop family are killed in the space of 24 hours.

From time to time all amateur drama groups have had performances when the cast forgets lines, cues are missed, scenery falls down, and the sound effects go awry.

The ladies of F.A.H.E.T.G. are no different, all of these disasters befall them, as they present their latest extravaganza.

The murders take place in the family’s ancestral, Checkmate Manor, where the family are gathering for the reading of the late Sir Reginald Bishop’s will.

Can the redoubtable Inspector O’Reilly solve this cunning whodunit?

Just as he is about to reveal the murderer, there is an urgent phone call which sends a vital member of the cast rushing home to deal with an injured daughter.

But the doyenne of the group, Mrs Reece, quickly rewrites the last couple of pages to save the situation and provide the final twist.

There will also be a Film and Fashion Show and a murder mystery quiz.

The performances take place at 7.30 pm in Malvern Wells Village Hall on May 9, 11 and 12.

Tickets cost £5 and are available from Daniels Garage in Malvern Wells, the village post office or from Mike Jackson by calling 01684 563824.
