UPTON'S Pepperpot Players have been busy putting the finishing touches to its production of H.E. Bates' The Darling Buds of May.
The town's resident amateur troupe will perform the popular comedy at the Memorial Hall from Wednesday to Saturday, May 23-26, at 7.30pm.
Bates' original novel, chronicling the adventures of Ma and Pa Larkin and their boisterous family in 1950s Kent, spawned the hit television show of the same name starring Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Karen Ashcroft and Paul O'Rourke, as the heads of the Larkin clan, lead a cast of familiar faces from in and around Upton.
Tickets cost £7.50, including supper during the interval, from P.S. Presents, in Old Street. Audience members should bring their own refreshments and glasses.
