THE Herefordshire & Worcestershire Schools Orienteering Championship were held at Eastnor Park on Saturday.
Around 130 school children took up the challenge, set by planner Mike Farrington, in ideal conditions.
The year 5 and 6 school trophies were hotly contested with Ashperton Primary School improving on last year's second place to take home the trophy. Second place went to Alvechurch Middle School with Wellington Primary School in third place in their first appearance in the competition.
Alvechurch also contested the year 7 & 8 trophy narrowly missing out to the Chase Technology College. The Chase regained the year 9 & 10 trophy from Kings School Worcester, who were missing a few of their usual team.
John Masefield High School from Ledbury prevented the Chase from a clean sweep in the Secondary School classes by winning the year 11-13 trophy.
