A POLICE officer from Malvern has vowed to row 310 miles to raise money for a local school and pre-school.
Danian Lowe intends to cover the whole distance during February.
And he kicks off the challenge next Friday morning (February 1) with a public rowing session at the entrance of the Morrison supermarket in Townsend Way, and another the next day. Subsequent sessions in Morrisons will be on February 17, 22 and 24.
Mr Lowe will cover the rest of the distance at the PF2 health club, also in Townsend Way.
He took up the challenge to raise money for Powick Pre-School and Powick Primary School, which his children go to.
"These are good causes, and for me personally, it's a chance to get a little bit fitter," he said.
"I'm very grateful to Richard Noble of PF2, to Morrisons and to UK Banners, who did the t-shirts for us, for their support."
Barbara Balogh, manager of Powick Pre-School, said; "It's fantastic. We're very thankful to Mr Lowe for making this effort for us. We can always do with more resources and we hope everyone will support him very generously."
Anyone who wants to help is urged to call the pre-school on 07748 604346.
