ABOUT 20 local authors will be taking part in an event at Malvern Library organised by local publishers Aspect Design.
From 10.30am-1pm on Saturday, November 21 visitors will have the chance to meet the authors and chat with them about their lives, stories and how they came to have their books published, as well as buying copies of any title that catches their interest.
Among the authors attending will be Rose Garrard, who has recently published ‘Discover ABC’, a re-print of a hand-drawn book sent to her by her soldier father on her second birthday, and George Chesterton, whose war-time memoir ‘Also Flew’ has received glowing feedback on online retail site Amazon.
The event is being organised in association with Worcestershire County Council’s cultural services team.
Allan Smith, the co-owner of Aspect Design, which is based in Newtown Road, said: “We want people to know how many talented authors there are locally, and that you don’t need to interest a large publisher in order to get your book into print.
“Initially many of our authors merely wanted the satisfaction of seeing their work published, and when they achieve sales over the internet or through major wholesalers it comes as a very pleasant surprise.”
