Staff at Malvern Fire Station will be allowed to stay in caravans or motorhomes parked in the yard area.
The fire service had applied to the district council for ‘change of use’ planning permission so up to three caravans can be parked on site.
This will only be for operational staff when they are on-call, and need to be close to the fire station to attend emergencies.
Worcestershire Highways had no objection and Cllr Neville Mills said: “I recognise the need for on-call staff to be in close proximity to their place of duty.”
