Firefighters have been battling a van fire on a main road into Ledbury.
The A449 Worcester Road is closed this morning after a van caught on fire.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene and worked to stop the flames from spreading to nearby hedges and trees.
"Two crews - one each from Ledbury and Malvern fire stations - were called at 5.29am on January 9 to a vehicle on fire on the A449 Worcester Road in Ledbury," said a HWFRS spokesperson.
"Crews discovered a box van well alight and the fire had spread to hedgerow and trees.
"The fire was extinguished using two hosereels with one firefighter wearing breathing apparatus.
"Highways were requested to attend due to damage to the carriageway.
"There were no casualties."
West Mercia Police also attended the scene, to help with traffic management.
As of 9am today, Monday January 9, Worcester Road is still closed from Knapp Lane to Horse Lane Orchard.
A police spokesperson said: "Emergency services were called at 5.46am to reports of a vehicle on fire on the A449 at Ledbury.
"Thankfully no one has been injured.
"Fire Service extinguished the fire but the road currently remains closed whilst the Highways Agency attend to clear the road."
