MORE than 60 stalls offering some of the finest produce around will be setting tastebuds tingling when the Great Malvern Food Festival returns.

The free event, supported by Malvern Hills District Council, takes place on Bank Holiday Monday, May 30, from 10am to 5.30pm in the grounds of Great Malvern Priory Church.

Examples of the finest locally-produced food, drink, arts and crafts around will be on offer with something for all tastes.

The BBC Food Theatre will also be providing demonstrations, talks and displays, while entertainment will be provided by the popular Monsieur Doo - a French chef and onion seller on stilts - the Rock Choir and local buskers.

Practical demonstrations include bushcraft cookery for children by Local Food Lunches.

Pam Chen Moore will be showing audiences how to master Chinese and oriental cookery, Jason Lynas from Terrace on The Hill will be cooking up some of the recipes that have made his Malvern restaurant so successful, and back by popular demand is Our Lizzy showcasing some delicious vegetarian and vegan recipes.

Cllr Phil Grove, leader of Malvern Hills District Council said: “This year’s food festival looks action packed with a great range of food, drink and entertainment on offer. This event is a fantastic showcase of the local produce available in our area and I’d urge people to come and discover some of the mouthwatering morsels available.”

The Bank Holiday weekend also includes the Malvern Munch Food Walk. Taking place the previous day (Sunday, May 29), the enjoyable seven-mile walk over and around the Malvern Hills offers walkers the chance to taste great local food and drink whilst listening to live music at stops along the way.

Tickets, which cost £20 including all food and drink, can be purchased from Malvern Hills Tourist Information Centre or call 01684 892289.
