MYSTERY surrounds the theft of a burger van which was parked on a Malvern industrial estate.

It is not clear who stole it, but a white van was later spotted by an eye-witness being towed away along Townsend Way- in the direction of Worcester or Malvern Link, on Saturday.

It is believed that this is the second burger van which was stolen from the Spring Lane area in recent times. They were parked in Sandy's Road and Pendragon Close.

Neither are believed to have been used for a number of months now.

The witness, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: "I saw a fast food vans being towed away along Townsend Way on Saturday afternoon (January 16) as we were waiting in a queue at Carphone Warehouse on the retail park.

"I assumed it was the van on Sandy’s Road as the van at the end of Pendragon Close has been gone a while longer.

"I just assumed they had been taken away for the winter as custom dropped off. It’s a shame as we used to buy our kebabs from there in the evening, although they have both been closed since November."

Police confirmed the burger van was stolen between 2am on Friday, January 15 and 2am the following day.

It is described as white in colour, around 12ft tall, a serving hatch on the side with a blue, red and white sign on the roof.
