A PLANNING application to erect a terrace of three houses at Upton-upon-Severn has been thrown out by Malvern Hills councillors.
The application, made by Sarah Hearn and Helen Featherstonhaugh, was to build the houses on land at Willowbank, in the town's Oak Street.
Planning officers said the application should be refused as it would not preserve and enhance Upton's conservation area, and would be detrimental to the setting of Willowbank, a grade II listed building.
And at a meeting of the southern area development control committee, members voted 13-1 with one abstention to refuse it.
Local member Mike Morgan left the meeting during the discussion and vote, as a close relative lives near the application site.
